Easy to find. Plenty of parking space when we arrived, friendly, polite and attentive staff on reception when we checked in on Christmas Eve. We were given the opportunity to fill in a form, so as not for the hotel to bring in staff unnecessarily, to say when we wanted the room cleaned and made up and to have fresh towels. (My husband and I totally appreciated this as we wouldn't want to be working over Christmas so only asked for clean towels on Boxing Day)
We had one slight issue upon check in. Our room, on booking, was a advanced leisure break price, (which I may add was £48.50 on, and, over Christmas we were very pleased with as we were visiting family for four nights), however also on booking, we would be allowed to cancel up to 24 hours before plus pay on arrival. We were advised on check in, the credit card I used to guarantee the rooms was charged the week before.
Although this was not really as it should have been, and if we couldn't have gone 48hours before I would have had to have been trying to get my money back, we did actually arrive there so I didn't make a fuss, however I would be more vigilant next time on booking to make sure the stated conditions were followed by Booking.com.
Our room was on the ground floor, 107 , my sister staying in 109, lovely large room, big enough for a pop up Christmas tree, all the amenities you would expect from a hotel, kettle, tea, coffee, milk, tv, shower toiletries etc. We were very pleased.
The hotel seemed quiet over the festive period so we had four lovely relaxing nights in such a comfortable bed!
The breakfast was self service, We do like this way of being able to have breakfast, however, some mornings although there was everything you needed from cereal to full English, the hot food was sometimes dry and unappetising and the juice was tasted watered down. A little disappointing since we couldn't complain about anything else.
Overall, a great stay, we would stay again and recommend to friends.
We have also stayed 10 years ago for a family party. less
