Stayed at hotel October 2017 prior to very early morning flight. My first impression was that hotel appeared to be much better than negative reviews. Very clean grounds and lobby, very pleasant and (I thought) helpful front desk staff. I asked for a quiet room and was given one away from the freeway side. Room was very clean, comfortable bed and quiet.
During check-in I stressed to the receptionist that I MUST HAVE a 6:00 am wake-up call to meet my plane. My travel clock had broken and I have no faith in my ability to set hotel radio/alarm clocks. He repeatedly reassured me that I would receive the call and even showed me that he was writing down my request.
Needless to say, no wake-up call. I woke at 6:30, grabbed my luggage and flew downstairs only to be told that the next hotel shuttle to the airport would not leave for another 30 minutes. I told the driver that I did not get my promised wake-up call, I'd already loaded my luggage BY MYSELF into the shuttle and I needed to be taken to the airport now! I guess the driver noticed the smoke coming out of my ears, took pity on me and drove me to the airport.
After clearing Agriculture Inspection (long lines), United bag check (long lines), TSA (long lines) and then running through the airport I made it onto the plane as the last to board.
The main reason for staying at this hotel is its proximity to the airport, its 24-hour airport shuttle and promise of a wake-up call. Whoever dropped the ball on giving me the promised wake-up call generated this one star rating. Too bad, because I would have been very pleased to give the hotel a 5 star rating. less

Thank you for staying at Best Western The Plaza Hotel, although we do wish it was under better circumstances.
We do apologize about this incident and for you having to rush to catch your plane. We discovered that unfortunately there was an issue with our system that we did not know about until after a few concerns were raised by employees. We have since fixed this issue and things are working correctly.
