My family and I left the HNL terminal at 10:00 PM at the end of a travel day that began 18 hours earlier. All we were looking for when we booked our night at Best Western The Plaza Hotel was a quiet, clean room with a comfortable bed that we could access quickly from the airport so we could get a good night’s sleep after a tiring day and before heading to the North Shore. Reviews indicated this was the place and we are very happy with our choice which exceeded every one of our expectations.
There was construction at the airport that made it difficult to get to the shuttle pickup spot and we missed the shuttle that was sent for us. The hotel was most accommodating when we called back with our explanation and the shuttle was quickly sent back. The driver was helpful and friendly, providing excellent instructions on how to pick up our rental car the next day and assisting in every way possible. Desk staff were efficient and very quickly we were in our rooms and sleeping off a six-hour time change.
Rooms were a decent size, beds were super comfortable, bathrooms were spotless and everything about our rooms was well maintained. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with excellent service the next morning, took the shuttle back to the airport to get our rental car and were grateful for the very easy connection from the hotel to the parking garage. Checkout was very efficient and everyone – shuttle drivers, desk staff, housekeeping and restaurant staff – provided a great introduction to the Aloha Spirit.
