The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the town centre and on the main road heading to Lewes or towards London. It has a decent sized free car park and despite the busy road, this could not be heard inside. I found the staff very polite and professional in all departments. The rooms are of a reasonable size, very clean and comfortable. The ensuite had a shower over the bath that was OK without having great water pressure, but fine for a short stay. The breakfast was of good quality, the hot food cooked to order and very nice, and with plenty of choice. I was not that impressed though with the evening meal, a beef curry that consisted of some rather tough chunks of meat with potatoes, onions and gravy and a fair bit of curry powder thrown in to suggest it was a curry, not a stew. It also had soggy naan and some bland rice.A real shame as it still cost a little under £15. The bar was fine, the beer well kept. I would stay here again, it was a nice hotel. However, I would walk the ten minutes into town on another occasion for the evening meal. less
