I had a really hard time at the Best Western Territorial. I am dumb founded by all the good reviews. I wonder if Trip Advisor recognizes the issues some folks have with mold and chemicals?? I have Environmental Illness and severe chemical sensitivities. Upon arrival to my room, I smelled a strong Lysol smell along with air fresheners. T he comforters had apparently been sprayed with Lysol, yet they clearly are not washed between guests. I had an immediate reaction to the comforter, before I even got into the bed; I had hives and a very fast heart rate. I had to sleep with the windows open and only sheets covering me. The next day, I had to go out and buy my own sheets and blankets. The next day, the same thing happened again (though this time, I was savvy enough to wash (my own) sheets and blankets in the hotel washer. Apparently, the housekeeper had been in my room and sprayed more chemicals. When I complained to the hotel staff, I was told that the housekeeper is doing what she's supposed to do to clean the room. I'm sure it's not the housekeeper's fault, but air fresheners do not "clean" the air; they merely mask other smells, and sometimes mold. They are potent neurotoxins as well. In addition, the staff reminded me that this is not a dog friendly hotel , and that the hotel had to use more chemicals when a guest brought a service dog. That makes no sense to me at all; since many of the people who bring service dogs would likely be even more sensitive to chemicals.
