We had stayed at this property before COVID. It is probably the best property in Mexico. Our 3 night visit was due to a funeral. Read the We Care Clean policies and booked the hotel. Many of the protocols are not followed - Social distancing measures will be implemented, wellness best practices signs will be prominently posted - this was not followed. Did not see wipes or sanitizing stations. Maintenance and house keeping did not wear gloves or masks (did not have room serviced during stay). The people behind desk did wear a mask. One person wore a face shield, but no mask underneath. Bed scarves were not removed from the room, and decorative pillow remained on a chair in the room. There was a hot breakfast buffet. The first two mornings, we were the only people at the buffet. The final morning the breakfast area was so congested. No one was paying attention to social distancing. Tables were so close together that one would have to stand sideways to get between tables . The hotel did provide gloves for you to use when getting your food. Very few guests had masks on when getting breakfast food. All three mornings we took our food back to our room and ate. If you are at all concerned about COVID protocols, this is not the place to stay.
On the plus side, staff is friendly. Many choices at the breakfast buffet. Bed was comfortable. There is free open wi-fi.
Pool and exercise room are closed - in fact the pool has been drained and being used as a storage area.
Be aware there is not elevator at this hotel so if your room is on the second floor, one has to haul bags up steps. less
