Best Western Taylor Inn

We booked this hotel because of location. When we drove in, we saw a sign that said, "Help Wanted." That's usually a bad sign, and it was. Upon check-in, there was no one to wait on us. Upon opening the door to our room, we were overwhelmed with an unpleasant odor. We left the door to the outside open a while. Then, we saw the filthy carpet..ug! There were bugs in the bathroom, the tub drain did not work well, and one could not close the door without getting behind it. It was the smallest bathroom I have ever seen. We turned the A/C or Heat on, and horrible smell came out. I'm so glad we were only there one night. We did not dare attempt their breakfast. The only reason that I did not give this place one star is because the walls did appear that they had recently been repainted. less

My wife and I booked this hotel because it was the closest to a wedding we were attending. The manager notified us at check-in the bugs around the rooms due to the rain. My gosh, it was horrible!!! The door had almost an inch gap between the siding and the edge of the door and all the bugs were creeping inside the room. We had to put a towel at the base of the door to keep them out from crawling in under the door. We woke up to find a massive amount of creepy crawlers in the bathroom and all over the carpet. For the “discounted” price for the wedding block it was terrible. I also notified the manager when checking out and she did not seem to concerned or apologetic. Keep driving past this hotel!!! less

My son had a baseball tournament at the sportsplex there in Taylor, Texas and of course we decided to choose the Best Western since it was in a convenient location and had at least a 4.5 star review on average, not to mention the fact that we’ve stayed at numerous Best Western locations without incident or issue. The check-in process was easy and fast. It was 11:30pm and I had my four year old with me after driving for 4 hours on a Friday night after working a full time job that week. Needless to say, we were exhausted. We got up to the room and noticed a loud ticking/rattling noise coming from the AC unit. It came and went all night long. The next issue was noticed when I jumped in the shower before climbing into bed. I immediately noticed what I would refer to as “pubic hair” in a few places in the shower/tub. It was most definitely not mine considering I hadn’t even undressed yet when I noticed it. I rinsed the tub and washed it out with some of the hotel-provided shampoo and a wash cloth before getting in to rinse off. Of course my first thought was to report it right away and attempt to move rooms, but it was midnight at this point and my child was asleep and we had a double-header beginning at 7am. We decided to suffer through the night and immediately check out the next morning. I would like to mention the breakfast as well. To say it left much to be desired is an understatement. If you like eating spoonfuls of mushy food smothered in copious amounts of rosemary, then this is the breakfast for you! The only thing I found edible was the semi-cold yogurt from the semi-cold mini-refrigerator. I will also mention that I received a discount for being a government employee. But I would not even recommend this hotel with such a good discount. I cannot fathom charging premium pricing for that type of hospitality, or the major lack thereof. less

I was not familiar with the area, so I was nervous at first staying here because of the doors being outside. But it’s in a great location! Very secluded. And I felt safe! Breakfast and WiFi were great!! I recommend staying here if you are in Taylor! less

Everything about this place was average.Breakfast was eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, etc. Ending at 9:amExcept, the morning after New Years Eve the manager kept the breakfast going.We enjoyed talking to other guests until after 10:00 amIt made the trip memorable. less
