I have stayed in Kerrville a long time ago but not at Best Western. I had to go to San Antonio, 3 hours from my home, for a job interview and drug test in one day. I was kept late. I'm not familiar with the city and my plans was to stay in Kerrville on my way home. I've always like Best Western in other cities - have membership. I was too tired and exhausted to find a better price for a good night sleep.
I was awoken semi-consciously around midnight with a loud chirp. This constantly went throughout the night every 5-15 minutes. I was too exhausted to figure out where that sound was coming from. Finally, woke up around 4-5 am, still tired and tried to find the sound source. It was the smoke detector - batteries. I'm not happy to not get enough sleep and went to the desk to complain. He offered another room, but I can't go back to sleep. I missed breakfast that was offered and it doesn't start till 7 and I left at 5 to try to get back home. It was dangerous that I did get sleepy driving a little ways further.
At least I could have gotten a reimbursement for this total waste of sleep... Not the desk clerk's fault. less
