This hotel needs a hands-on manager to bring this hotel up to acceptable standards. Signs of wear everywhere - tiles in elevator cracked with gaps between them; upholstery on chairs in our room was scratched, stained and badly worn, the suite door (room 306) did not close automatically as fire code requires -- it was stuck on the carpet (swollen floor? ill-fitting door?)
When we went to bed, I was unsure if the bed sheets had been changed (wrinkles and a red thread near the pillow) but we were tired and didn't want to make a fuss and ask for fresh sheets. We decided to go to bed instead and we slept well. On the road the next day, however, my friend complained of bites on her arm, neck and face. I had none. We still don't know the cause (bedbugs? hives?). Staff were friendly and the breakfast was fine but the thought that we might be carrying bugs home is a terrible way to end a holiday and -- because of the general sloppy maintenance -- it seems to be a distinct possibility. The bites are red and itchy still, almost 2 days later. less
