Had to make last minute reservations to attend a funeral. I booked two rooms, one for my wife and I and one for her father and brother. At the last minute, father and brother came down with the flu and could not travel. I called to cancel the room and will be charged for the late cancellation. I knew this in advance, so it wasnt a shock, but I was left wondering of the room I had to cancel was eventually book anyway. The parking lot was so full, that people had to park in the shopping center across the street.
Our room was upstairs, I knew this in advance, and also knew that there is no elevator to get there. Our room was facing the east which when we got in there, it was so cold, that I had to turn the heater on to 80° for two hours to get the chill off.
King bed was comfortable as was the room. Typical motel/hotel furnishings (small fridge, microwave, TV, hot plate). Bathroom has a jetted spa tub which is deep enough. Shower can be a little tricky. The dial controlling the water temperature is installed backwards! When the pointer hits the C for cold water, that is really the hot water!! Bathroom has a nice tile floor. Tile floors are cold!!! One of our electronic keys didnt work. Found out this the hard way when wife went back to our room about 5 minutes before I did and couldnt get in.
They do serve breakfast. You would think that's a good thing. We had to walk to the far end of the complex, outside, to get there. The temperature at 7:30AM was 37°. Just a tad cold. The scrambled egg omelets, if you can call them that, were cool to the touch and had the appearance of being pre-made and shipped in a box to be heated and served. They had a mound of bacon in a pan. Well, they called it bacon. It was more like wafer thin pieces of lard with some dark strands in it. At least the coffee and orange juice was ok. less
