Traveling cross county and stopped in Santa Rose, NM after 14 hrs. of driving. Had reservations at one hotel but they didn't have hot water. (Still accepting guests if u wanted a cold shower. Don't know how they could during COVID!) Went across the street to Best Western. More money but at this point, all we wanted was a hot shower and clean room to sleep for a couple of hours. The front desk clerk was very nice and the room was clean. However, when I woke up in the morning, I had bug bites. I am very allergic to any bug bite but by the red welts, recognized them as flea not bed bites. My husband, on the other hand, does not get affected at all by bug bites or poison ivy like I do. He did not have one but I had at least 5, one on my right upper bicep, 2 on my left arm near my armpit and one on my left eyelid which was swollen. I tried to alert the mgt. so they could spray but the front door was locked at 6:10 a.m. when we hit the road again. I did leave a small tip w/a note on the housekeeping env. The room was clean but fleas need to be bombed. I know people love to travel w/animals but they need dedicated rooms just for pets or they need to spray every time a guest stays overnight w/a pet to prevent the next guest from getting bit! This is not just this hotel but all hotels that allow pets. less

We are sorry to learn about the aspect of your visit that did not ensure a wonderful stay for you. The property is serviced regularly by pest control, and we have procedures in place related to our pest policy that should have prevented this issue, so your comments are surprising. Nevertheless, we have taken your feedback on board, and we will have our pest-control partners carry out a full review of our facility to ensure the issue has been comprehensively dealt with at this point. It is disappointing if a guest leaves with less than first-rate experience - this is very unlike us. We hope for a chance to redeem ourselves with you and delight you with the top-notch stay that the vast majority of our guests usually have with us.
