There doesn't seem to be any particular reason to visit Blythe (sorry - but it does seem to have plenty of shops and services along the main street, all easy to find) but if you are on a road trip and passing through California on Interstate 10, this makes an ideal overnight stop. I was heading east from LA, having spent the day in Joshua Tree National Park (see separate review) and Blythe is about an hour further on from the southern edge of the park.
This place has to represent about the best value for money I've found in a long time. I only paid $105 for the night, tax included, and for this my motel-style room had two queen beds, tea and coffee facilities, microwave and fridge, and air conditioning. It was quiet and there was a pool, plenty of parking and a free self-serve breakfast, including hot and cold drinks, toast, cereal, yogurt, pastries and a few hot items.
Staff are pleasant and welcoming and the room swere nice and clean. less
