Stayed here on a Saturday with my partner and friend, when I booked through the Internet it said super saver double £70, my friend could only book a double superior as that was the only room available at £90, when we arrived we parked in the car park at the rear but found the signs for reception were non existent but then realised it was at the very end of the car park. We were seen by a friendly girl who checked us in but told me my room was £85 due to me not seeing they had not added VAT on to my so called super saver double room, I looked at the email confirmation I had and then realised I should of checked the small print, when I looked at my friends room which was £5 more than mine I wished I had paid the £5 extra for a room at the back with a much larger bed. Our room was ok, it was at the front of the hotel on quite a busy road, the floorboards were very creaky but it's quite an old building and I'm sure the floor was on a slope too! However, it was clean and cosy and had everything I needed. After our night out we arrived back and as it had been a hot day the room was very stuffy, we had opened the windows already but it was still very hot, the bed was very comfortable and I did sleep well apart from waking up to what sounded like a flock of pigeons in the room, they were nestling outside the window!
We did not have breakfast there as it was an extra £10, which I thought was a bit cheeky but there are plenty of places near by to get breakfast cheaper. I think it's a bit expensive to not include breaky and I would of preferred to stay at the premier inn but they only allow a two night stay during peak months and we wanted just the one night. less
