An excellent stay close enough to Brands Hatch. Less than half an hour drive. Good service and a lovely room. We were at the back of the hotel so nice and quiet (apart from the church bells but nothing you can do about that!) Breakfast very good. We would certainly use this hotel again less
stayed here for a family Easter meet up although fairly comfortable we had a number of observations first of all the heat in the rooms could not be controlled as there was a big radiator but no control when we opened the window it let in all sorts of noise. Furniture was old and the writing desk we had cupboard door needed maintenance as it was only just hanging on by one hinge. Also the lock in the bathroom was only hanging on with one screw, although I did find the other screw lying on the floor. Must be a small hot water tank in the hotel as we couldn't get any out of the shower after 9.00 am. We went to the hotel bar for a night cap after one outing and to my dismay they didn't have any single malt whisky behind the bar and amongst other things the barman didn't know what Brandy they had. So I would give this hotel only 2 stars less
lovely staff, character hotel, comfy rooms, great breakfast and free parking ! The Rose and Crown was a good find, and Tonbridge is a sweet town and handy to explore Hever Castle and Tunbridge Wells.Definately worth staying in again ! less
My wife and I stayed for 1 night 25 March 2015. The reception staff were very friendly. Car parking is at the rear of the hotel and is accessed via some side streets. The bedroom was at the back and therefore very quiet. Huge double bed. Nice room clean and warm.
The hotel is quite old and a bit creaky which adds to the charm. Dinner was very good pub type food with a reasonable choice. On offer was a selection of wines of the month all at £12.95. Makes a change from some the over the top prices charged these days.
Breakfast was very good with a good choice of buffet and cooked. Would definitely stay again if in the area. less
Quaint old coaching inn in centre of town opposite the castle. Ok for overnight stay. our upgraded room was far too hot and we needed to request a fan which we had on all night. Bathroom window was screwed shut so steamed up! My sons ground floor room was very cold! Our room overlooked the car park and was very quiet. Food only average so had excellantfirst breakfast at Wetherspoos a few mins walk away! Lots of eateries in Tonbridge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. less
