Before booking a hotel I check trip advisor, then their website to see what's there and check out the menu in the Jacobean restaurant.
Hit all the plus points, on the menu was lamb kleftiko and lamb. My wife and I have not had kleftiko since Greece. Imagine our faces to find there was no kleftiko and no lamb whatsoever. Few other things on the special board with pre made sold out signs so it must happen quite often. Hence 4 stars not 5.
Had steak in the end, always a good standby, it was cooked to perfection, pink and no blood, just how we asked for it.
Other than that, this is a great hotel, very friendly staff.
We got upgraded to an executive room (14) which had a 4 poster bed, a seating area, dressing room and a super shower room.
It was quiet as no weddings on, yes it's miles from no where but that's why we booked it, if you want hustle and bustle and noise book a hotel in leeds city centre.
Breakfast was well presented, again some very helpful staff.
Will I return? Yes but please ask who orders your food to make a better job, I understand that you can have a run on some good choices but, a good catering manager should foresee this. Who ever ate all the kleftiko, I hope it was as nice as it sounded. less
