We stayed at the Rimstone Best Western Hotel. We booked our room with Susan. We used our air miles and it was a bit complex because we needed a handicapped accessible room. Susan was a big part in making this experience a pleasant one as the process was a bit tricky in how to transfer a regular room through air miles to a handicapped one. Through the patience and friendly voice on the other end of the phone we were able to successfully book the room. Susan went the extra mile to make our room booking a pleasant experience! We appreciated her efficiency and expertise. Once upon arrival the other front staff were warm and friendly. The were very accommodating. They helped were there was a need. PPS the housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating as well.
One thing the Rimstone offers is a breakfast nook. This is a cozy area where one can have a hearty breakfast. The tables were just the right size for my husband to roll up in the wheelchair. It offered a variety of food choices from hot steaming waffles to eggs, toast, ham, sausages, cold cereals, to yogurt, coffee, juice, tea etc. Usually my husband waits back in the room to have his breakfast, but with this nook he was able to eat with along with me with ease. That was certainly a plus to have me with him for breakfast. :) Hats off to the cooks who worked tirelessly the mornings we were there! Also, throughout the day different items are offered.
The handicapped accessible room was nice to enter as it had a nice tile floor to roll in with ease. The area by the bed had a nice wide birth by the bed for one to maneuver with their wheel chair. (although the carpet was a bit hard to maneuver on) Low berber carpet would be helpful. The bathroom was spacious and had lots of room for a wheelchair to move about with ease. The fridge was at a level that one could access if in a wheelchair.
Also, the hotel offers many other amenities. A nice water slide for the kids and a hot tub for one to soak their weary bones in. There a place where you can work out too as well.
Another feature is that the town is just a 4 to 5 blocks away from the hotel. You can either jump in your car or walk. The town takes you back in time, breath in the fresh county as you investigate the little shops and stores. Make sure you get some old fashioned ice-cream and have cash on you as the little places only accept cash.
We will be back! :) less
