Located 10 mins by car from airport DPS, the hotel offers airport transfers. Used the service a few times during my 30 night stay as I had excursions to other islands. Its a lottery if they pick you up, sometimes there, sometimes not. Hotel also offers transfers to Lippo Mall a few times a day. I read somewhere that location was 200M from eateries etc etc- that might be true, if you are a bird. Opposite hotel there are 3 minimarts, which is quite handy.
The BW Resort is in dire need of a rewamp, a scrub, some upgrading and training of staff if the 4-star rating should be taken seriously. Plenty of staff, so it should be possible. Frontdesk staff are courteous, helpful and serviceminded.
I made a request for a high floor room, but was assigned a groundfloor room in the corner next to restaurant and by the noise from the pool. Not my idea of a relaxing holiday. I actually spend more time inside my room than outside. Room was of good size and very tired. Colouring, furniture & lightning is gloomy and old. And its dirty. sofa and chair covers are oily and dirty. Aircon is too weak to keep room cool as the doors are quirky and you often have an armada of gekkos visiting. Not a problem, if cleaning would just remove their fekal matter on the panels.
Big comfy bed, they will not change your linnen unless you ask them too- which is a first time for me. Linnen and towels are dirty and oily, and you need to check for lipstick, skidmarks and dirt before using it- I did mention this to cleaners several times. the appologized and gave you yet another dirty bunch of towels. That is disgusting. I will upload pictures of this, which I am sure tripadvisor will remove- they usually do. Small fridge, tea&coffe which was actually refilled. TV has an impressive selection of channels. Not much storage for clothing. Curtains are dirty. Floor was not washed once during my 30 days stay.
Bathroom was disgusting. Toiletbowl had years of urine down its sides, walls dirty, tub surface painted on top of hair from previous guests, huge mirror with no light, doors dirty and greasy. The mere stench from the suiage system (rotten cabbage) made you want to womit. Bought Mr.proper and cleaned it myself- did not remove the stench. Absolutely disgusting. Probably also a healt hazard.
Breakfast had a good selection of asian and european choices, pancakes, bread and egg-station. Delicious. Coffee tasted like tar. Plenty of staff however not really serviceminded. Tables and chairs greasy and dirty. Check your cups and glasses- they are not clean. Supposedly open for lunch, I went out sitting a few times for lunch- no one came to serve. Staff was too busy chatting. Had quite a few dinners, portions on the smaller side but VERY tasty and reasonable pricing. Asking for a menu did not nessesarily mean that they would return to take your order.
I got a nonrefundable price when booking as they would charge my card immediately- it was not so as I was only charged when checking in. Had I known I would not be staying there for 30 days. For a short stay, or a transit stay between flight would be recommended for this hotel. But not for a holiday.
Most staff are very friendly and hospittable and I felt very welcome at this hotel.
I was sure this hotel was a 3 star rating, but it is actually a 4 star rating. which makes me regret even more that I choose to spend my hard earned money here. I would rate it 2 in management and standard and 4 in friendliness.
