I have had the pleasure to stay at four of the Best Western properties in the greater Bali, Indonesia area in the past year. The Best Western Kuta Resort, was by far the worst experience I had. Upon checking in, we had towels that were torn and frayed as well as bed linens that were dirty and stained, plus hard floors need better cleaning. These were all addressed when we complained, but they should have been identified and fixed before the room was available for check-in. Also, power went out on the property for a short bit, which luckily came back on and only happened once. I asked the front desk and was told that is common.
Internet service was inadequate and was only able to connect on my phone very intermittently. I spoke with the front desk multiple times about this, and told they were working on it and would contact us shortly. Each time, they did not fix or contact me back. I also asked if we could switch rooms as an option to hopefully have better Internet access. This also was ignored.
Finally, at check out, I was able to speak with the manager. He apologized and spoke kind words, saying he was unaware of "any" Internet issues. Again, my issues were never corrected and his kind words did little to help improve my experience while I was a guest.
Breakfast was fairly good, but I liked the selections better at other properties I have stayed at. Again, this could be better, but no reason to go elsewhere, on this issue by itself.
As for the other properties in the Bali area, I can speak most highly about my experience at the Best Western Ubud area. They exceeded all my expectations and also enjoyed exploring that region very much. I highly recommend that property and hope the other Best Western properties can pay more attention and strive to be more like them. less
