Pretty nice rooms but huge management flaws.
I am currently writing this review while watching TV in one of the suites. Overall, the hotel is actually nice but it is dated. It is overall quite clean and on day 4 of our stay the house keeper is actually making our stay better and better....the personal touches, like arranging my child's stuffed animals into cute poses, it's the little things that make a really nice stay at any hotel.
My only real issue with the hotel is the managements decision to close the only activities in the hotel at 10 p.m.- the water park and separate pool with hot tub.
If you stay at this hotel with the ambition of visiting the black hills and all it offers, you really have to try hard to make it back to the hotel in time to let the kids "blow off some steam".
The town of keystone and surrounding areas, including the night illumination of Mt. Rushmore have activities that run until 8-9 p.m. In the summer. This forces you to drive like a mad man to try and get back to the water park/pool and play for 15-20 minutes before they ABRUPTLY KICK YOU OUT, literally shutting the water off and turning out the lights, all within 1-3 minutes. Not cool!! whoever thought this was a good idea is not a parent or simply does not care about consumer value, but conveniently the pool reopens at 8 a.m. which is just great if you want to get going at 6 a.m. while on vacation, said no one ever.
All in all we had a nice stay but the hours of the pool etc. are a future deal breaker for me. We are fairly local visitors from a few hours away and will stay somewhere else in the future until they decide to change the water park and/or pool and hot tub hours, at least keep everything open until 11p.m. on the weekends.
