I tried leaving a review for Beat Western of Bayside NY, on the side I booked my room, but it was conveniently somehow deleted. I’ve stayed in just about every hotel within 10 miles of bayside, over the past 10 months. This is the first time I’ve ever had to give any hotel a bad review. To sum it up, the hotel clerk (female) was very unprofessional. For starters, I booked two nights, for a business trip. I checked in late, unpacked mine and my husband’s belongings, and went to sleep. Attempted a shower first thing in the morning. To my surprise, the hot water turned ice cold after a minute. My husband went down to speak to the receptionist. He was told she will change our room for the second night, but we needed to check out of the first room by 11am. Mind you, I’m already rushing to get to an important meeting: moments later, there’s a knock on the door..it’s the maintenance guy. He attempts to fix the water issue by loosening the faucet? Not checking the boiler in the basement, but messing with the faucet. Okay. That did nothing but make me late for ia meeting. We went down to speak to the receptionist..was then told that we couldn’t change rooms, because we booked the hotel at a low rate, on a discount booking site. (Don’t think I’m allowed to say where). We asked to speak to a manager, but she was tied up at the moment. Perhaps she would’ve handled the matter in a more professional manner then the receptionist. Anyhow, best western of Bayside NY, needs to get their act together. less
