My wife and I stayed her for four nights at the end of July. Compared to other similar styles of hotel, we found the Ptarmigan Lodge to be an ideal option during COVID19. Although the hotel isn't offering a hot breakfast right now, the "to-go" option is great - particularly if you are planning on hiking. Granola bars, oatmeal, PB&Js, yogurt, muffins, coffee, juice, water, etc. are available. The location of the hotel also lends itself to enjoying the outdoors easily. Easy access to trailheads for Lily Pad Pond, Buffalo Peak, and Ptarmigan Peak; plus walking distance to several good restaurants and right on the lake.
On this stay (our second) we booked a slightly more expensive room with a refrigerator. The room was in building four and had a very nice balcony on the second floor. Overall, I think these rooms are newer and nicer than those in the main building. The only downgrade I have for this room was the toilet and its VERY slow flush...we had to hold the handle down for a good 15 seconds to get the desired result.
We are already looking at our next opportunity to stay at the lodge again later this summer or fall. less
