We chose to stay here during the Mecum Auto Auction because it was the host hotel. First I should say I believe the management must be phenomenal. The hotel is obviously old, but management has kept this hotel running by having a friendly & helpful staff, extras such as flavored water and coffee in the lobby, clean and up kept rooms and lobby areas, etc. Upon check in, I was asked what floor we wanted our room on. I asked what she recommended. She said the third floor would be the most quiet, so I chose that. If you want a quiet nights sleep, I do NOT recommend room 300. We stayed 4 nights and barely slept any of those nights. It was a quiet floor, however room 300 is right by the entrance to the hotel. There is a table that sets outside and every single night there was a group of people out there until 2-3 am drinking, being loud, and yelling profanities. We didn’t call in a complaint because everyone has a right to spend their evening as they choose, but I think it would be wise to move the table nearer to the entrance to the restaurant/bar so people don’t gravitate to the entrance of the hotel to hold their parties. That is really my only complaint. The rest of the hotel was quiet. O’Rileys restaurant/bar is attached to the hotel and offers a great selection for everyone. The lobby is beautiful, the pool area looked nice, great staff, good parking, close to many restaurants and shopping, and the list goes on. less
