While living in Madison Wisconsin, home of the UW-Madison and the state's capital, I never needed to stay in a hotel, and even when I visited, friends generously urged me to crash at their place. So when I needed a place to stay recently for a Badger football game, I decided to stay on the Capital Square at the Best Western Premier Park Hotel, the Inn on the Park, back in the day.
In addition to being a convenient location for State Street, both Lakes Mendota and Monona, Madison's bountiful bike paths, coffee bars galore, a variety of restaurants and vintage bars...the list could go on; and for my brief visit, it was perfect. I parked and walked everywhere, the hotel's attitude for service was quietly responsive without being overdone, the bed was comfy and didn't aggravate my bad back, and the State Capital was impressive, constantly staring at me just outside my balcony window.
Since there's a better than good possibility I will be back more often now, it's good know about this property, should I ever need similar amenities. less
