The hotel was easy to find arriving by train from Naju. The station is a short distance to hotel. If you aren't weighed down with luggage you could walk. Check in was quick. The room was a generous size with plenty of closet and drawer space, places to put luggage out of the way. Having the vanity separate from the toilet and shower is a convenience we appreciated. The room was immaculate. And the coffee in the room was really good.
The beds, linens and pillows were terrific. Slept sound and woke up well rested ready to go.
The airport bus stops right in front of the hotel. If it were any closer it would be in the lobby. The bus runs every 15 minutes so getting to the airport was a breeze. The trip took about an hour and 45 minutes and cost less than $20 US. The sights on the way were beautiful. We were so pleased with the location of the hotel and the numerous amenities and attractions close by. So much to see.
The subway is incredibly close. Although If you enjoy walking many attractions are an easy jaunt from the hotel, with lots of interesting things to see along the way. My favourites were the Hanok Village, Myeong-Dong Cathedral, Gyeongbokgung Palace, shopping - so many places, parks all over, restaurants architecture - old, new, I could go on forever. I love Seoul! The dichotomy of old and new is captivating.
The hotel is within walking distance of the Cheonggyecheon Stream. Strolling along the paved walkways in the evening was a delight, though it's enjoyable any time of day. Insadong market was fun to see but I much preferred the traditional market, Namdaemun for the vibe, bustle and wide assortment of goods from ginseng, cool apparel, food, Korean-made products and more. The food choices were amazing and delicious.
Out the door of the hotel to the left is a street vendor where we bought our yummy breakfast on the go, grilled egg, ham and cheese on bread served in a paper cup. And coffee. Don't know what made it so tasty special, perhaps the charming woman preparing the food. There is a cozy area with tables and chairs to sit and eat just inside the hotel entrance with a convenience store just steps away.
When I visit Seoul again I will definitely stay at the Kukdo! less
