I traveled with my family to Detroit for a reunion. We arrived fairly late and were greeted with a full-blown party in the front door. Apparently, there were two reunions being hosted at this location simultaneously. Needless to say, the scene was pretty chaotic. The front desk staff was fast, friendly and as accommodating as they could be but that is where the positives end. We were supposed to have two adjoining rooms but initially received two rooms side by side. No biggie. One room was perfectly clean, the second one - completely lived in. Disheveled bed, dirty towels on the floor and in the shower, garbage in the trash can. We were moved to adjoining rooms and were grateful because we were traveling with children. One room appeared to be clean but the second had very dirty linens – stains on the duvet cover, hairs on sheets, the works. I went to the front desk and was told that they could move us again. I decided not to press my luck and just wanted the sheets changed. I was told that housekeeping wouldn’t be there until the morning. So what?? Am I supposed to sleep on dirty sheets until the morning? I had him chase me down some clean linens and I changed them myself. We cleaned the room from top to bottom and kept the Do Not Disturb sign on the door the entire stay. While gathering our personal items at checkout, we discovered a drawer full of used and unused condoms. Disgusting! I am so thankful that the minors in the room never opened that drawer. I think it goes without saying that we won’t be staying here again. less
