Not thrilled with room size, but overall average-won't be back though

I would say that this is a average or slightly below middle-mark hotel. We stay in hotels 40+ nights a year and I can tell they are trying here, but the base room size/;set-up has issues. I hate really small rooms with even smaller bathrooms. I am not a fan of having the bathroom sink area behind the same door as the toilet, where someone can't shower while someone else uses the sink area--should have separate doors/spaces, but everything is so cramped together. I also though the pillows were not good...way too small and nothing to them.
We were in a double bed room and the sliding door from the bedroom to the bathroom, with its frosted glass, just didn't cut it in my mind. No one can go to bathroom at night and not wake up the entire room because they have to turn on the light in the bathroom to see and of course the light goes through the frosted sliding glass door (which by the way was very dirty with kid hand prints from a previous guest). A simple night light around the toilet area would help. I also was not happy with the heater. It was really noisy in our room and either worked "too" well or would not come on at all. Another suggestion, and maybe BW is going to it, but having the soap dispensers for showering, shampoo, and conditioner on the wall, is not my idea of good. I would much rather have a personal bottle of shampoo, then to have to pump it out of dispenser that I really don't know what it is ....It is labeled Dial, but not happy with the "cheapness" it feels like.
The staff for checking in was very nice and top notch. The cleaning staff in the breakfast area was trying very hard, too. There were a huge number of people and not enough seats to even begin to handle the demand of the breakfast bar (lots of families with kids and pets). Yet, the staff was trying very hard to keep it stocked and clean.. Good job employees.
Even with all this said, I will try a different hotel next time as fixing the room size/layout is not something that can be fixed easily. If you are a family with kids, who like a nice pool, have pets, then this hotel may be for you. less
