Flew into O'Hare from London and started 3 1/2 hr drive home.By the time I hit Pontiac, IL, I had been up for 20 hrs., it was raining with the threat of severe weather, and it was safest to stop. Selected the Best Western as it looked better than the other hotel next to it. I almost never check into a hotel without researching reviews, etc., but at this point I was ready to take almost anything. What a pleasant surprise this hotel turned out to be! Gentleman who checked me in was very friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast available beginning at 5:30 which was very welcome as I knew I'd be up early. Woman presiding over it was very friendly and nice also. Breakfast had typical offerings but everything was fresh, attractively presented and plentiful. They even offered perfect bananas, which you never see at a hotel breakfast (woman said they put out fresh everyday) and cuties, which again is something never offered. All this for a more than fair price. (Check-in clerk even asked me if I had AAA or AARP, so he could give me the lower rate. Mind you, this isn't the Ritz but if you're looking for a place to stay in Pontiac, highly recommend it. It's just off Interstate 55, so location is convenient as well. less
