Pricey, Noisy, Not our Favorite

OK, This is a beautiful facility and has some great people. But friendly and helpful people are pretty much expected any more and I would rather stay in a quiet but plain place than a noisy but beautifully decorated one. At this point I would point out that we stayed in the "Executive Wing" which is a separate three story building away from the main building. I suspect that staying in the main building would be much more pleasant but I can state unequivocally that staying in the Executive wing was not pleasant.
We were on the second floor of the Executive Wing and there were no handicapped parking spaces for this floor. There was also no ice machine on this floor and the building has no elevator. The noise was horrendous. The doors are heavy and slam constantly. The rooms are equipped with the new "Blast Furnace" AC units which have no low fan setting to mask outside noise and provide pleasant ventilation. When they come on they fire up like a 747 engine and, having thoroughly disturbed you, shut off 30 seconds later... NOT A FAN of this type of unit! To make matters worse, there was a road right under our window and construction nearby.
To add to this, the room was very dark. There were no overhead light fixtures, (a trend that we both thoroughly dislike!), and the wall and floor fixtures all had bulbs in them that were only marginally brighter than fireflies. Noisy and dark is not a good combination in a hotel room.
The biggest plus to this location was the breakfast. The eating area was nice with good food and a lovely lady named Melinda overseeing it. less

Mike I want to apologize that we did not meet your expectations while you were staying with us. I am sorry that you did not see the handicapped parking in the parking lot for the executive wing. I will let the maintenance department know about the noisy unit in that room so they can look at it. The next time you visit you can request rooms in the main building and if they are available the front desk agent would be happy to help you. I will pass on your kind comments to the breakfast staff. We hope that you will give us another chance the next time you are in the area.
