We stayed here for one night at the start of our Zanzibar holiday. We didn't get to the hotel until around 9:30am and left Stone Town immediately the next morning, so our stay here was fairly brief. Upon booking our room, we contacted by the hotel and they assisted us with airport transportation, along with transportation to our next hotel upon checkout (which was great, because we preferred to pay for the cab with a credit card so we could earn more cc rewards points).
The room itself was a nice, 3.5 star quality room. The bed was comfortable, we had water/tea/coffee at our disposal, a safe box, converters for our electronics, good AC, and a rather luxurious showerhead (we did just finish up with a camping safari, so this was a crucial piece during our stay). The room at night was quiet and we both slept very well.
The downside to this hotel, however, is the location. Yes, it is in very close proximity (short walk) to the historical district. However, the building surrounding the hotel are a little sketch. My husband didn't feel safe with me leaving the hotel at night to go out and get a snack. The alley to the main street is poorly lit and there were several solicitors sitting along the alleyways. It felt a little odd because the hotel itself is pretty nice and attractive looking, but it really stands out in the setting in which it is in. For one night, it was fine, but I don't think I would have been happy if i spent 4-5 days there. When you choose a hotel to stay in for several days, you want to feel safe and when I wake up, I sometimes like to go for a run (I didn't here due to above reasons).
Overall, I did enjoy my stay. They have a free breakfast (fruit, eggs, breads of various sorts and sausage), and the price was reasonable.
