do much traveling and write many review on Tripadvisor. I have only written 2 bad reviews, and here is my third. We were staying in Miami for a wedding. My wife is handicap, so we required a handicap room. The 1st hotel of choice had non to offer that night, so we chose this place. It is north Miami, a mixed neighborhood, right off RT 1.
It is an older place, but appeared OK from outside. The front deck staff was friendly and they had our reservation. When we were showed the room on the 1st floor, as soon as we opened the door we knew there was a problem. The moisture hit us like a ton of bricks! with mildew smell, like it hadn't been used in a while. Everything appeared clean, but it was so humid, even with the Air conditioner on: a mold factory. My wife went into the bathroom, which was large and well equipped and it smelled like a boys gym and an underlying sewage smell. That was it, NO way were staying, so we went back to the desk and asked for another room. There was 1 more available, non handicap, on the same floor. Same issue, very humid smelling, mold factory! Went back to the desk and asked for a manager who wasn't available, and we asked for a refund so we can get another place to stay. We ended up at the Best Western on The Bay(see review)
At $170 per night, this is a nightmare! Not well maintained, Stay away!!!! less
