Just visited the restaurant with my family on a Eat out to Help out. We were seated in the restaurant & just left there, the young chap working in the restaurant was dashing about & seemed to be the only person working in there. We were not given a menu for some time or asked if we wanted to order drinks. After 20 mins we did order. 4 men were seated behind us at a table not 2 metres apart from our table, our chairs were back to back. They were swearing & extremely loud we could not hear ourselves speak at all, our meals arrived after 30 mins but sides were missing & I enquired about the peri peri chicken which 3 of us had ordered as it was just plain chicken. The waiter said the sauce & sides would be about 5 mins! The noise from the table behind us was deafening & my daughter politely asked if they would kindly stop shouting as we couldn't hear ourselves speak. To which we got a mouthful of abuse and & my son got threatened and abused. The language was disgusting & one of the men carried on insulting us all. I asked to speak to the manager 3 times & then ended up going to the reception & ringing the bell. The service was extremely slow the meals not up to scratch. The vile abuse from the men who were members and had been playing golf was disgusting. We left & did not eat the meals due to the bad atmosphere & threats we recieved. Lack of help from the staff who were rushed off their feet with more diners than they could manage. A ruined evening for us all. less
