We were traveling along I5 and checked for hotels in the area before stopping in Mt. Shasta. The online price for a room with 2 queens at this place was $117. We checked in and were charged $130. We explained about the online price, and asked if they had a price match guarantee. They said they $130 was the best they could do. Almost walked out, but it was late and raining, so we stayed. The price DOESN'T include a breakfast buffet, which is standard in most hotels any more. All they offer is 25% off in their overpriced, attached restaurant.
We got an upstairs room. The "breathtaking view" was of the building next door and the parking lot. You could see how badly sagging the mattresses were before you even laid down on them. The wall heater sounded like a truck was coming thru the wall whenever it kicked on. Discovered the next morning that the remote for the TV didn't work - had to operate the TV using the controls on the side of the TV itself. Dust behind the headboards and in the corners.
This is a $70 motel trying to pass itself off as something worth twice as much, mainly because it's one of the only places in town. Drive a few miles further north and stay in Weed, where you can get more choices for less money.
Definitely not recommended to my fellow travelers. less
