I choose to stay here while touring FSU with my son, due to the positive reviews. Coming off of I-10, I didn't expect how convenient the hotel was to the highway. That was a plus. The lobby is impressive once you enter. We stayed in rooms 225 & 227 as they are adjoining and we brought the grandparents with us. The rooms appeared to be renovated...all except the toilet. I didn't understand that; it appeared to be the original toilet but all else was tastefully decorated. The toilet worked just fine though :) I read in the reviews that people complained that the AC comes on too loudly. It does...but I like that. I like background noise to block out other room or hall noise. Because let me tell you, we needed that noise! There was a family that arrived to stay directly across one of our rooms, and when the AC fan wasn't on- that family didn't try to keep quiet. From having their kid scream in their room, to constant slamming of their door, to yelling, crying, and talking loudly out in the hallway without care of being courteous to other guests-whether late at night or early in AM, that fan was needed. So once I turned fan to a constant on rather than auto, it blocked it all out :). That family was not the hotels fault so I didn't take off points. In the room, the beds were comfortable and I appreciated that they listed the tv channels on the back of the white hotel information guide. The breakfast was the same both days but I thought they gave you great selections. For starters, you had 24/7 access to coffee, hot tea and hot cocoa, as well as flavored fruit ice water. At breakfast you had 3 juice selections and various milk selections. There were different cereals, oatmeal with toppings, scrambled eggs with the availability to make your own burrito, bacon, sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy, French toast, yogurts, different breads, pastries, cream cheese/jellies/peanut butter, and bananas. I'd say that's well worth your money! They also will have Grab and Go bags if you don't have time to eat at hotel. There's also a restaurant within walking distance named Wahoos Seafood Grill, and the hotel gives you a 15% off coupon anytime you ask. We went twice and I loved it- I also left a review there. All in all, if my son goes to FSU, this is the hotel I will always stay at when visiting my son. That would be a lot of trips over a 4-year college life! It might not be the closest hotel to Fsu, but it has great reviews, and you get more bang for your buck. I'd recommend to stay here. less
