I first stayed at this hotel in 2014 in a double room. This stay in 2017 was much better in that I had a king bed room and it had a window which lightened the room more than the double room. Plus this hotel has gone through a remodeling. The carpeting has been replaced with laminated floors which are easier to clean. The bathroom has been redone with new fixtures and there was lots of hot water.
The improvement that I felt was the best was the breakfast area. There was more room and the layout was better. The fountain near the breakfast room was a nice
touch also. Hot coffee was available throughout the day.
This hotel is across from Canal Street and Decatur and easily accessible to the French Quarter, Jackson Square, Harrah's Casino. The trolley runs along Canal and with appropriate changes to other trolleys one can access the many of the attractions nearby. Basically, the trolley will get you there and save a lot of walking.
Check in and out was great. The hotel arranged for a cab back to the airport with no problem. The personnel at the hotel, all of them, are very, very helpful and make you glad this was your choice,
The rooms are not overly large but comfortable and very clean. The bedding and towels were very nice. Slept well with little street noise although our room faced Magazine Street.
Breakfast is 6:30 to 9:30 as I recall and is the fairly standard breakfast items with eggs, bacon or sausage, muffins, breads, fruit, oatmeal, etc. The breakfast staff does an excellent job of handling breakfast.
Wi-fi was very good during my stay as well as TV reception.
We arrived and left via airport taxi so I cannot speak as to parking but it appeared to be very limited at best. Valet parking might be the best or only option. Suggest that you check first with the hotel if arriving by car. less
