Last minute decision last Friday (Feb 3, 2017) to bring the family into town for a day of swimming, movies & good food. We picked Best Western Inn & Suites because of the location and the fact it's fairly new. I was happy with the fact they have plug-ins at their outdoor parking stalls as I drive a diesel truck and the temperatures that weekend were frigid.
Pool was ok, not very deep but the water slide kept the two kids entertained while me and the wife lounged in the hot tub.
Hotel itself was very clean and tidy, GM for the hotel was very pleasant at the front desk, decent lobby area and vending/ice machines placed accordingly. On that note, the fancy soda machine by room 109 charged us $4.50 for a can of ginger ale that was displayed @$1.50. Yes that's minor but still slightly irritating.
Our room was 112 on the ground floor, AVOID ROOMS IN THIS WING AT ALL COSTS!!!! There's a entry/exit door at the end of this hallway that slams so hard when closing it literally sounds like a shotgun blast going off. It's extremely annoying during the day, but brutally unbearable at night. We personally woke up at least 15times during the night as guests either left or returned from being out on the town. Was crappy having to try get the two year old back to sleep each time.
We tried both the 'WhiteSpot' and 'Chop' restaurants that are within walking distance, I personally liked Chop better, but was slightly more expensive. There's also a Royal Pizza in the same parking lot (right outside that dreaded 2nd exit door) which didn't help the traffic in that wing of the hotel.
In closing, I thought the price was fair, although the total on my online booking was lower than the actual cost of my bill when we checked out (only a few bucks though) but I will probably stay at the FourPoints or Sandman Signature in the future when we come into town.
