The BW Siesta Key is a fine hotel, but be warned it is structured like a motel, in that the rooms face outward, either toward the parking lot (in the front) or toward to pool area (in the back). This wasn't an issue for me, personally, but if you are looking for a more traditional, interior corridor type building this isn't it.
Beyond that, the facility was impeccably clean. I never saw trash anywhere on the grounds. The public areas (lobby and pool area) are updated and welcoming. They made good places to gather with friends before or after a day out.
Speaking of the pool area, the building has an nice pool and hottub area, with lots of seating. Chaises, tables, and outdoor sofas were all available and mixed in the sun and the shade. Quiet background music (Sirius/XM The Pulse) was playing at the pool during the day.
A small poolside bar is also available serving mixed drinks and beers. When I was there the poolside bar was not accepting cash, only cards. There was a steel drum band Sunday night, but we just missed it.
Free breakfast was served. Typically some type of eggs (either scrambled, or omelettes), with sausage or bacon, along with sausage gravy and biscuits, as well as cereals, fruits and breads. Not five star, but again, perfectly adequate.
Where this property shines is its location. About a 1 mile walk to public beach access on Siesta Key (it is Florida so the walk is FLAT!), and near to a huge variety of restaurants and shopping. Despite its proximity to Tamiami Trail, there was little traffic noise except for some loud vehicles passing behind the parking lot.
All in all, a fine facility. I gave this properly 3 stars (I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could have) and only because of the outward facing rooms (motel style). If this was a typical, interior facing facility, it would have gotten 4 stars. less
