but the kids are 3 and 5 so really I took my wife for Mother's Day. We had a blast. The hotel is at near the entrance to Banff if you are coming in from Canmore. It's a bit of a walk to downtown Banff. But really not even 10 minutes and that's with a 40 lb 5 year old your shoulders. The hotel is a bit dated looking from the outside but if you're spending your time looking at the outside of your hotel when you're in Banff you're not doing Banff right.
Parking was great. I was in a rental Wrangler and it fit no problem. It's underground too so your cars protected either from the heat of the sun or from the snow.
Breakfast is your typical Best Western breakfast except they didn't have the waffle maker :-( I love that thing.
Our room (211) was awesome for our family. Two queen beds, and room probably for another one so we had lots of space for the kids to roam around. The room had a balcony which would have been lovely except that it was a bit chilly for us to be outside. The kids loved it though.
It's a super short walk to the local play ground so if you have kids with you there are swings, and slides and climbers easily accessible. Also it's a short short bike ride to get to the Legacy trail which runs 22 Km (what's that 15 miles) to Canmore.
There's a pool and a hot-tub, man the pool was cold but the hot tub was great. You can get towels from the front desk which is right beside the pool so you don't have to use your room towels.
They let us leave our jeep in the parkade after check out too so we could enjoy one last day in town before we headed home.
I would stay here again no problem. It was a great Best Western Experience. If the pool hadn't been so cold I would say it met all our expectations. less
