Overall, the area is great. The hotel room was clean and bright, and the staff were courteous and helpful. My HUGE issue was the shuttle picking us up in the morning. I called the hotel in advance to make sure that there was a shuttle running, I was told to just call as soon as I got my bag and walk it the designated area for pickup. As instructed, I called after picking up our two large suitcases. Confirmed it and we waited about 30 minutes in the designated area that is not convenient to get to with suitcases. Oh, by the way, it was 20 degrees. We called again only to be told that there was no shuttle driver but midsentence we were told yes there was on on the way, and we needed to wait for pickup so we waited and waited. And it warmed up to a balmy 22 degrees. Needless to say, it was a bummer to have to have waited so long in freezing temperatures.
Breakfast was pretty generic but the omelette made up for what was lacking in the breakfast food offerings. The omelette was perfectly made and quite delicious. We ate two dinner meals there and they were delicious. Our second dinner, although tasty, was uncomfortable for us because there was a group of cheer moms obviously intoxicated and very obnoxious. They were rude to the hardworking bartender/server. She handled them nicely and was NOT rude back to them.
To top it off, one elevator went down for 2 days we were there so the single elevator had to service a hotel of cheerleaders, their parents and a large swim team. That meant a lot of waiting. It was unfortunate. But, there was hot cocoa and coffee available after getting in from the snow. That was a nice touch. I’d really need to weigh out my other hotel options before selecting this best western again. less
