With this review, BW reservations for this location is about to increase tremendously. The owner should send me a check. Nevertheless, before my stay at this BW I had rejected them as one of the worst based on past experiences at two other BWs (South Carolina and Newport News, VA). Even though they are independently owned and operated, I said "no more". But desperate times called for desperate measures so my family member and I made reservations for three days. I can not state enough how this BW totally changed my mind about the chain. First, the room is nicely furnished. The room is decorated in black, red, and orange. Very different from many other chains. It was also clean (including the balcony). They have a wide screen television with great reception. It is also quiet. My family member and I thought we were the only guests on the floor (5th) until we walked to our car and saw about six others cars. Second, the hospitality is more than I have experienced in quite some time. The staff consisted of two types of employees: friendly, warm, and courteous or quiet, keeping their head down, and minding their own business. I was pleased with both. Third, for those of us who love to eat....the breakfast buffet was the best I have ever experienced. They have varieties of items I have seen no other chain of hotels offer such as fruit, soy milk, and salsa just to name a few. Unlike so many others they also serve meat. The meats consisted of corned beef hash, ham, bacon, and link sauges. There is so much variety you can have fun with your breakfast meal. The breakfast staff stands courteously by while you while you prepare your meal. If the item is not there, they immediately address the issue. There is ample sitting room in the dining area and ample parking. The lobby looks newly remodeled. The only negative things I noticed is that when I first entered the room it smelled like feet. But as I do with any hotel room I stay in, I wiped down everything with lysol and sprayed the room with air freshner. No more smell problems after that. The other negative thing which is not a hugh deal is the carpets in the hallways. They could use shampooing. If you get a balcony room, you can enjoy the holiday lights on the boardwalk from your room or the balcony (the city of Virginia Beach should send me a check also). Enjoy your stay. You may not want to leave. less

This is by far the best and funniest review I've ever received or read for that matter. It is truly awesome and my staff and I can't thank you enough. I also think you are spot on accurate with everything you said. We are replacing our carpet this January so you won't have to worry about that again:) Please call me directly the next time your plans bring you to the beach so that I might have the opportunity to personally assist you with the process. Once again, thank you for making our day, it was great having you with us.
