After a full renovation, the Best Western Plus Sagafjord Hotel opened in July 2012. The hotel now consists of 34 rooms with up to 74 beds. In addition, the hotel offers a cabin with 6 beds, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. The old wooden walls that are found in parts of the building are more than 200 years old and comes from an old school house in Valdres. The "School house"- which is a separate part of the hotel, has 3 suites, 2 superior rooms and a comfortable lounge. This can be used for formal and informal meetings, dinners and conferences for small groups & companies up to 16 people.

Give in to the amazing view from our restaurant area, while enjoying some refreshments from the bar or a better meal, or chill out by the fireplace in our lounge area with a good book.

The conference area consists of 3 different sized meeting rooms with brand new facilities to meet todays technological requirements.

The magnificent area around the hotel makes the perfect frame for a variety of activities, that we together with our partners do our best to facilitate for you.

Some ways a disappointment

We are so sorry that you did not fully enjoy your one night stay with us. Most of our guests give fantastic feedback on the complimentary breakfast that we serve. Our breakfasts are different each morning, so guests staying more than one night get to experience a wide array of entrées, with anything from a breakfast pizza, to stuffed blueberry French toast, a ham and cheese 3 egg omelette to a four-cheese quiche, etc. The side dish also changes from day to day, some mornings we have muffins, sometimes fresh fruit. Other days we may have a yogurt parfait or perhaps a baked grapefruit. We always have a meat dish that is either bacon or sausage, sometimes sausage links, sometimes patties. As far as the one strawberry you mentioned, it is called a strawberry tart; on this particular morning it consisted of a flakey mini crust, strawberry jam, whipped cream topped with a fresh strawberry. You also complained about the one piece of toast. Again, the bread varies from day to day. Sometimes we have toast, other days biscuits or croissants. Unlike a restaurant, most B&B’s will gladly provide you with more food upon request without an additional fee, however, most of our guests comments are that they enjoyed such a big breakfast that they did not eat again until their evening meal. In the 23 years of owning a B&B we have learned that you can offer clean and nice accommodations along with outstanding service, but you absolutely cannot please everyone. We do hope you will give us another try next time you are in the area as we enjoyed meeting you and talking with you, especially about your hometown where the movie Steel Magnolias was filmed.
