Lots to Like, But....

We found LOTS to like at the BW Plus Rose City Suites! First, and most importantly, our room was clean and had been properly prepared for us. This hotel is doing all it can to make you feel safe and remain healthy during this COVID season. Secondly, having a full suite (at the same price as you'd pay for simply a room at any other hotel) was a wonderful bonus! The kitchenette/living room combination was a generous size, as was the the separate bedroom. A TV was provided in both the living area, as well as the bedroom. Thirdly, we found the staff friendly and helpful. Check-in and out was friendly and efficient, and we were also given some good tips about where to purchase some items we needed. Fourthly, they're doing their best to provide a generous pick-up breakfast to be eaten in-room during COVID. We're grateful for all of that!! BUT.....our one concern was that the hotel's walls and floors are not well insulated in terms of sound. We could hear the people walking above us on the second floor all night (why are people walking around at 3:00 a.m.?!). We could hear every time a tap was turned on, a door was opened or closed, a voice spoke in the parking lot, or someone simply moved around in their room. We didn't have noisy or obnoxious neighbours but we could nevertheless hear everything that went on in the rooms around (and especially above) us -- and I'm assuming, therefore, they too could hear us. With fewer guests during this season of COVID, I'm guessing this problem could be somewhat alleviated by spacing guests out more and -- especially -- by not placing people on the second floor immediately above rooms occupied on the first floor. less
