I had to be in suburban Sacramento for a family event, and I selected the BW Plus as my place to stay because it offered convenience and a price significantly below the other options. I have stayed in Rancho Cordova multiple times and all of the hotels there are flawed, though the Marriott is pretty solid.
The first thing you should know is that this place is a little hard to find. It’s not on the main road, but off a side road behind a McDonalds; the sign is small and the new BW logo looks too much like the Dairy Queen logo to stand out.
Do not expect anything other than a motel here- I’m not sure what the “Plus” refers to. The rooms open to the ground or an outside walkway, which limits your privacy, but for a motel it’s fine. At this particular moment they are doing roof work, so I asked not to be on the top floor. This put me into a so-called accessible room. As someone who does not have a physical handicap, this means mostly that the bathroom is twice as large as normal to accommodate a wheelchair, so the rest of the room is smaller than normal. This did not bother me, though it would have been nice if the desk clerk had mentioned this to me (and it would have been even nicer had they told me about the roof work in advance).
The people who work here are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is good considering the price of the room, and the noise from the adjacent freeway is bearable. Keep in mind that the price and breakfast and convenience is prone to attracting groups of young people, so you can’t come here expecting peace and quiet. It’s a solid budget choice. less
