First, the hotel room smelled terribly like smoke. The humidity in the rooms was terrible, and condensation was on every surface in the room. I also called a month in advance of my check in date, and verified that I had an early check in. The person I spoke with on the phone, I believe her name was Sarah, but I'm not sure on that, confirmed I could check in at 1 pm. I arrived at 1 pm, but was not allowed to check in until nearly 4 pm. When I asked why I couldn't check in, I was told that they were not allowing early check ins. When I told them I spoke with Sarah, again, not sure that was the name, and told the receptionist I was confirmed that I would check in at 1, the receptionist rolled her eyes, sighed, and walked away. She went to the back, and didn't come back to the desk for another 10 minutes. People were waiting in line behind me getting frustrated. When she came back out, she asked me what she could help me with. She didn't even know I was the same person she was just working with. I waiting in the lobby for over 2 hours, and then when I got to my room, the smell was terrible. Like I said before, the smoke odor was overwhelming. I could not change rooms because I was there for a convention and getting a special rate. I am going to contact the hotel and try to get a rebate for my stay. 4 nights in that room was nearly torture. If that is how Best Western maintains it's properties, you can guarantee that I will not stay in one again. Also, the hotel catered the NASCOE convention I attended there, and I was not impressed with the service the facility provided at the Exhibit Hall. The meals the hotel catered were always late. I was served drinks in glasses that were still dirty after they were washed. If not for the very relaxing and nice pool area, I would have never spent any time in the hotel. Zero stars from me. Again, I will be contacting the hotel to request a refund of my payment. less
