Shall I list the ways and reasons for such a statement? I travel a good deal and usually use only 2 hotel companies. BW getting the lions share of the dollars.
Place was pretty vacant when we arrived. That alone should have told me something. All pre-booked using points for the first time. Platinum member of their points deal actually. Checkin was slow and just a general pain the buns, ok I can deal with that. Look up to second floor balcony, big wodden crate sitting up there, not a decorative one a workman's box. Ok, odd but deal-able. Get keys cards head for room. Surprise, the hallway is filthy. Walls are being stripped bare. Really unattractive but the mess did not help. Room is at least tidy, clean not so much as we learned. Wear socks in the rooms there, cheap ones you will throw out. Head out to see family, one of whom is headed to the hospital for emergency attention.
Ask if there is coffee available. What is in your room only.
Ask about room being made up etc as is per usual in a hotel. Not until you leave room, we do not clean or resupply, will not enter room period unless you have checked out. You need something ask at desk.
Breakfast? Well you see, they will hand you stuff out of the mini fridge at desk, no actual grab and go like many others.
So no room cleaning,
no bed making,
no changes of linens,
no pretend breakfast even,
and oh YES, the lovely odor of acetone that invades.
Then there are the ants that come out of I assume the toilet base in the evening.
BW Needs to remove the franchise name from this place and it really does need a change in staff from the top down. My advice, book elsewhere, unless you are stuck like we were. Needing to be in that area. less

Hello, we are very sorry for the inconvenience you have faced during your stay at the Bestwestern Plus Oakbrookinn. We had last minute contract to start the wall paper project and began it about a week ago. It should all be done by this Friday and the lobby will be looking fresh and new. Also as of right now due to Covid restriction we have limited breakfast - muffins, water and apples and there is no housekeeping available for stay-over rooms. We are happy to give new linens and towels upon request at the front desk but due to Covid restrictions and the safety of guests and employees we are not allowing the housekeeping to enter a room while a guest is still staying. Once again we are sorry for the inconvenience that you have faced and hope to do a better job in the future to satisfy all guests with their stay.
