We go to Newport usually 2x a year and we always stay at this hotel. The location is amazing. The beach is across the street and the staff is always great. This time though there was a power outage at about 8:30 at night and with 2 small children we were left in the dark for 3 hours. The hotel looked like a ghost town and no staff in sight except the young girl at the front desk who was of no help. My kids and I were in the dark in our room trying to use a cell phone to see, they were scared and crying and there were police all over not sure what happened. We couldn't even walk next door to get dinner and when I asked the girl at the front desk where I could get something she said there were places in the book in our room. We ended up calling an Uber and he helped us find a place. We even bought the Uber driver dinner cause he was so helpful less
