When we checked in, I showed the receptionist my BW UK Gold card and next thing I knew, we had a suite which was really nice. The bedroom area has the usual two doubles with desk , TV etc and the sitting area had couch, long table, large fridge, microwave ,and there was a sizeable bathroom. All in all, you couldn't really ask for more. The room was a little dark but that was largely due to its long shape but everything was in good condition.
The hotel is located a short drive out of the main downtown area although there are garages, supermarkets and a restaurant just across the road. Personally, I think there are better places to dine so be prepared to drive.
The included breakfast was very good and although it was extremely busy, we always managed to get a table.
The town itself exceeded my expectation in terms of pleasantness and is definitely worth a stroll around. Beware that you are a lengthy drive from the entrance to Algonquin and there are other accommodations nearer. However, these appeared to fall into two categories - really expensive upscale properties or rather questionable "mom and pop" motels which may well have been fine but we were happy to make the drive on the several occasions required. After all, that increases your chance of spying wildlife which sadly remained discreetly hiding during our visit. less
