Staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant food could not be faulted and our waitress was lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast was as to be expected, self service, plenty of choice and food hot. The only negative the tea and coffee could be served quicker. We had nearly finished our meal when it appeared. ( both mornings)
The executive bedroom was clean and plenty of space . It was a little cold when we entered but the radiator soon sorted that out.
The decor in the hotel was not to our taste. A bit too eclectic and too many colours! We joked it was a cross between old folks home and fabric remnants factory! Wing back chairs, plastic covered Chesterfields and a modern jazzy 2 seater sofa plus the large oversized arm chairs! Some people would no doubt love it!
The hotel was nicely situated for access to York attractions. We parked in the nearby car park for a £8 charge per 24 hours, which was reasonable in a city centre.
The only real negatives were the lack of wifi reception in the bedroom , weak to fair. I couldn't even sign on the signal was that poor. We reported it to reception on leaving.
The other negative was the sachets of decaf coffee in the bedroom which was poor quality. The taste was very weak almost as if the coffee taste had been removed, not the caffeine! Same could be said for the coffee at breakfast ( a different brand may help) although the capacinnos were good.
Overall the stay was very good. Comfy, clean and acceptable. less
