I travel to Salina frequently, as I have a daughter in college there. I've been staying at different hotels trying to choose my favorite. The lobby here was nice, and the rooms were nice and clean. The lemon water and iced tea in the lobby were a very nice touch. I was surprised that the bathtub fixtures were a bit rusty being the hotel seemed to be fairly new.
The walls were a bit thin...but as I said, the room was clean, and that's my main concern.
The reason I can't recommend this hotel, nor will I be back, is that, shortly after checking out, I realized I left my iPad charger (you know...the $50 block/cord combo) plugged in at the nightstand. I called hoping the cleaning crew would grab it and turn it into the mgmt, and I could have my daughter run by and grab it for me. Unfortunately, they did not turn it in. I'm not sure what the hotel policy is on left items, but I was so very disappointed not to get that back...especially when I knew exactly where I left it (I had unplugged the alarm clock to plug my charger in), and especially since the charger was nearly brand new.
Shame on me, and lesson learned. I am usually the "don't leave anything behind" police with my family, checking and double checking behind them, but this time I guess I was a little off my game, being that I was traveling alone AND a little under the weather.
The hotel is itself a pretty good place to stay...but I won't be staying there again due to this experience. And I highly recommend that if you do stay there, you take extra care to leave with everything you brought. less
