We stayed at this hotel by chance when looking for a last minute deal.
The hotel is well situated for transport links being easy to get to by road and very close to the train station as well as being close to night life and restaurants in the city itself.
We found check in fast and efficient and the decor of the hotel is very modern.
On arrival we had been allocated a room very close to the lift and directly overlooking the train line; whilst this may not be a problem for some, depending on the nature of your visit, we did not wish to be situated here. The hotel staff were very accommodating and moved us straight away without us having to go back to reception to do so.
Our room was comfortable and clean - view overlooking the city, comfortable bed and very good shower.
Although a large proportion of rooms in this hotel may be on the same side as the train line, we did not have a problem with noise following our move (we were on the main road side on the 7th floor).
As part of our package we were entitled to an afternoon tea. This wasn't the most impressive I have to say. There were a few basic sandwiches and scones with whipped cream and jam.
The bar bar and restaurant area are overall very nice. I am unable to comment on the restaurant itself as we did not eat here.
The buffet breakfast was very pleasant. Seating was not an issue and complimentary newspapers to read in the restaurant area. There was the usual choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast, pastries and hot food selection.
The staff at the hotel were helpful, polite and professional.
Would stay here again should we visit Cardiff in the future. less
