We expected to be in the Avignon area and chose the Best Western there. This is our normal choice when traveling. We arrived in daylight and found the hotel fairly easily. At night, returning from dinner in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it was another story. The hotel is definately in an off-the-beaten-path area in Avignon.
We found a very comfortable, nicely furnished room awaiting us. My husband is physically challenged and uses a walker, and he could not use the
pool - a ladder, no steps with a handrail.
This is a problem we encounter all over
France. The French hotel branch has not
yet discovered that guests with special
needs travel too. Ah, and no
handicapped parking was available
Best Western Plus Le Lavarin is a quiet
spot, with a courteous staff fluent in
English. Now that we have found it, it is a spot worth returning to another time, less
