Apologies for the late submission of this review. We visited in June 2018 and I wrote this then but didn't post it at the time for some reason.
The package we had was great value for money. Chatsworth was superb, and all our hotel food (afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast) was great. The hotel itself is attractive and does not feel as near to the city as it is.
The service from staff at the hotel was very variable. The young man on dinner duty 26/6 was bordering on rude. A couple of the breakfast staff (26th and 27th) were on slow motion and delivered items without a word or a smile. One waiter had body odour. Others were really nice and couldn't be faulted. The young waiter who served afternoon tea on 27th was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. No sign of any hotel management, which may be the problem.
We were upgraded to a superior room which we appreciated, it was spacious, comfortable and quiet. But my goodness it was like a furnace, we could not possibly have slept in it without a fan. I requested one at 6pm and was told it would come in 30 mins. At 7pm I rang again and was told it would come straight away. We still waited about another half hour.
So we might try again (the location was excellent for our purposes and we enjoyed our stay) but we would definitely think twice. less
