We had a great girls-only weekend. There were three of us, so, we booked a suite in the environmental wing. There were two queen beds in a separate room, and then a hide-a-bed in the living room area, so, we each had our own bed. A mini fridge and, a bar sink were also provided. I slept on the hide-a-bed, and although I found the mattress hard, we were only there two nights, so, it wasn't a huge deal. But, overall we were very impressed with the room. There was a door from the bedroom, and a door from the living area, to access the balcony, which I thought was a great idea.
Before I called to reserve, I had checked my prices around town (including air bnb) beforehand, so, I had some "competitor" knowledge when they quoted the rate. I am a Best Western diamond rewards member, and they ended up giving us a price of $191/night, so, I appreciated that. The Manteo was offering a 2-bedroom condo for the same price. So, I guess it just depends on what part of town you wanted to be located in. Kelowna isn't really that big, so, it didn't really matter to us - we had a car The Best Western is a more central location, but, the Manteo is closer to the beaches.
So, we booked into the second floor of the Environmental wing, facing the back, so, yes, a parking lot. Next time I go, I will likely request a courtyard view, although that wasn't a huge concern for us. As a smoker, it was a nice change to have smoking permitted on the balcony, in the environmental wing, and, they even provide an ashtray. That is not to say there are smokers on every balcony....(most of us still hang our heads, and hide lol), so most balconies were vacant.
There is an elevator in the building. But, you do have to walk outside to get to the main part of the hotel. It was October, so, although a little chilly, there wasn't any snow :) We used the robes provided in the room when going to the pool, as did many other guests.
Upon check-in they offer a discount coupon for the pub. The hotel restaurant had recently closed prior to our arrival, so, the pub was the only place to eat in the hotel, If you choose to leave the hotel, there is a wide array of choices very nearby.. Our first night, we wanted to go to the pub for supper, but, it was full (due to Halloween celebrations). So, we went on day #2, for lunch. The food was very good (typical pub menu), and, fairly priced. We didn't visit the fitness room, so, I can't comment on that.
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel, but, first time in the suites. We really enjoyed ourselves, and, we will be back.
The complimentary hot breakfast was the tipping point for our decision to stay here, since with 3 people, that represents a fair bit of expense.
The two out-door hottubs were lovely, and felt great that time of year. They seemed to be well-used at all times of the day, but, not over-crowded at all. The pool was great as well. It was quite shallow though, but roomy enough. less
