We recently had a one night stay at Best Western JFK on March 25th, 2020. We were on our way back from out of country where we had been stranded for several days as our flights home kept getting cancelled during the Covid pandemic.
I had booked this hotel online a few days earlier, hoping that our flights would be a go and that we would indeed have an overnight layover in Houston. We arrived in Houston and called the hotel to request the airport shuttle. The shuttle arrived promptly in about 15 minutes and we were at the hotel shortly thereafter.
I checked in at the counter with my name saying I had a reservation for one night. The young lady at the counter was unable to find my reservation. I checked my phone for the reservation thinking I booked the wrong Best Western. It was then that I realized I had mistakenly booked the hotel for the previous night which had already gone through on my credit card. Ugh, what a stupid mistake, and with all the craziness with the flights in the last few days I was quite distraught. I cannot remember her name, but she immediately called her manager and discussed my situation.
She was so kind and compassionate and went above and beyond what she needed to. They ended up comping our one night stay since we had paid for the previous night and the hotel was at capacity that night so thankfully there was a room available.
We had to leave very early the next morning for the airport. The shuttle was supposed to be available, however the driver was not there in the morning, perhaps a miscommunication. We decided we would just call an Uber. Again, a different young lady at the counter, but she was genuinely upset that we had to call a cab and she offered to have the hotel pay. We appreciated the gesture but it was only $8 so not a big deal however it was a very nice gesture.
We have stayed here a few times and we will definitely stay again. Nice hotel, clean and comfortable and great staff. less
